It was easy for the Texans to have drafted Kareem Jackson in April of 2010 and say that their young cornerbacking crew would have a good amount of success in the near future. Granted, with Glover Quin Jr. on the other side of Jackson and the Texans looking to make a playoff run in 2010, having a lack of talent at cornerback didn't seem like a feasible reason why Houston couldn't win the AFC South.

In the 2010 season, though, the Texans showed NFL fans why an explosive offense isn't enough to overcome a dearth of cornerback talent. Granted, the Texans had a mostly-effective front seven on defense, ranking a respectable 11th against the rush. On offense, the Texans could trade scores with anyone, ranking third in rushing and sixth in passing. While the Texans were able to produce effectively on offense and stop the run efficiently on defense, Houston couldn't keep opposing quarterbacks in check. The recently expansion-born franchise ranked 30th against the pass, and couldn't put together a campaign worthy of the playoffs. If the Texans' horrible finish in 2010 was a crime, the secondary was the perpetrator.
